Cannot create Event

Postby francis » Thu, 31. Dec 2009 5:21

I just installed HELGA but when I want to create an event, the following message jumps out:

"The record source 'Event' specified on this form or report does not exist."

Does anybody know what happened and how to fix it.

Thanks

Francis

Hi,

it looks like an installation problem, that the tables from HELGADAT are not linked to HELGA.
- What version of Access are you using? Which version of Windows? Did you keep the default directory C:\HELGA?
- Did you install the EMIT OCX and the SPORTident OCX prior to installing HELGA?
What happens when you go to the Configuration screen - DB maintenance and hover over the "Relink Tables" button: do you see a valid path? Press the button to force a relink.

Hi,
I am using Vista and Access runtime 2003. I am using the default path (C:\Program Files\HELGA). I have also installed the SPORTident OCX and the EMIT OCX.
When I relink the tables, the path exists but a warning pops up:
"Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-time error"

The problem is with VISTA security..
I would suggest to uninstall HELGA (not the 2 OCX).
Reinstall into C:\HELGA (this should ensure that the HELGA files have the appropriate write permissions).

Michael,
I have reinstall the program into C:\HELGA but the warning still exists.
I just fouind that I have Access 2007 installed in the pc, it seems that there is conflict with the Access 2003 runtime and Access 2007?

Try the following procedure

- launch Access 2007
- set it in format 2003
- from Access 2007, open the Helga file (in C:\)

- try to create the event
-----------------------------------------
success or not, uninstall the run-time and create a shortcut like "...path of Access \msaccess.exe c:\helga.mdb
-----------------------------------------
if this method is insuccesfull, the problem is really with Windows Vista : in the "safety parameters", try by setting "MSACCESS" as a secure program, or disconnecting the whole security on your user's login

we stay tuned ...
